Network management / UniFi and Meraki
Your firewall, switches and Wi-Fi, configured on purpose and kept current.
Office networks drift. Someone adds a port forward for a vendor, a firmware update gets skipped, the guest Wi-Fi ends up on the same network as the server. We take ownership of the network, document it and keep it patched, on the two cloud-managed platforms we see most in small offices: Ubiquiti UniFi and Cisco Meraki.
Platforms
UniFi or Meraki: we run both
Ubiquiti UniFi
Strong value for small and mid-size offices. We manage UniFi gateways, switches and access points through the UniFi controller, keep firmware on a tested schedule and document every network and firewall rule. A good choice when budget matters and you want local control.
Cisco Meraki
Fully cloud-managed with licensing per device. We manage Meraki MX security appliances, MS switches and MR access points from the dashboard, use its change log as part of your records, and track license renewal dates so nothing goes dark. A good choice for multi-site offices that want central visibility.
Already on another platform? We will assess it honestly. If it is supported and patched, we can often manage it as is. If it is end of life, we will show you the risk and a replacement plan.
What is included
Network management, itemized
| Area | What we do |
|---|---|
| Firmware | Track releases, apply updates in a maintenance window, roll back if something breaks |
| Firewall | Review rules, remove stale port forwards, block inbound management, enable threat filtering where licensed |
| Segmentation | Separate networks for staff, guests, phones, printers and cameras so one compromised device cannot reach everything |
| Wi-Fi | Coverage review, WPA3 or WPA2-Enterprise where supported, guest isolation, sensible channel plans |
| Remote access | VPN or zero trust access behind MFA, with accounts removed the day someone leaves |
| Multi-site | Site-to-site VPN between offices and consistent rules across locations |
| Monitoring | Device up or down, WAN failover events, unusual traffic alerts from the platform |
| Documentation | Network diagram, IP plan, admin accounts and license dates in your portal |
Rollout
How we take over a network
- Read-only review. We get view access, export the configuration and map what is actually there.
- Findings. A short ranked list: what is exposed, what is out of date, what is undocumented.
- Admin handover. Admin accounts move to named, MFA-protected logins. Shared vendor passwords are retired.
- Fixes in windows. Changes happen after hours with a rollback plan and a note to you before and after.
- Steady state. Firmware cycles, quarterly rule review and alerts flow into the same queue as the rest of your IT.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do we have to buy new hardware?
Not necessarily. If your current UniFi or Meraki gear is supported, we manage it as is. We only recommend replacement for equipment past vendor end of life or clearly undersized for the office.
Who owns the UniFi or Meraki account?
You do. The organization or site is registered to your business, and Computer Plus is added as an administrator with named accounts that you can remove at any time.
Can you manage networks in other countries?
Yes. Both platforms are cloud managed, so location matters less than the internet connection. We coordinate any hands-on work with your staff or a local technician.
Do you install cabling?
We do not pull cable ourselves. We can spec the job, coordinate a local cabling contractor and configure everything once it is in place.
What about our phones?
We segment voice traffic and set quality of service so calls stay clear. The phone service itself comes from your phone provider.
