FAQ
Getting started
What does a managed IT provider actually do?
Runs your IT as an ongoing service: help desk, device management, patching, security tools, backups, cloud email administration and planning, for a recurring fee rather than by the hour.
Who is Computer Plus a fit for?
Offices of roughly 3 to 50 people, often medical, dental, accounting, legal, insurance, mortgage and professional offices on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
Do you only work in one city?
No. We serve clients worldwide, mostly remotely. See locations we serve.
Fully managed or co-managed: what is the difference?
Fully managed means we are your IT department. Co-managed means your in-house IT person stays in charge and we supply tools, monitoring and extra hands.
FAQ
Plans and pricing
How is pricing structured?
Per user per month, by plan. We quote after a short assessment. How pricing works.
Why do you not publish prices?
Because one number would be wrong for most offices. A written quote lists every line, so there is nothing to guess.
What is billed separately?
Hardware, software licenses unless bundled, fixed-scope projects and on-site technician visits, all stated up front.
What is the contract term?
It is set out in your written agreement before you sign, and we explain it plainly during the quote.
FAQ
Support
How do we get help?
By the client portal, email or phone. Every request becomes a ticket.
How fast do you reply?
Every request gets a reply within one business day, and urgent issues are worked first.
Do you monitor around the clock?
Ares RMM provides continuous monitoring and alerting on enrolled devices. Staffed support runs during business hours, with the coverage window for your time zone set in your plan.
Can you come on site?
Most work is remote. When hands are needed, your staff can follow our guidance, we ship preconfigured equipment, or we coordinate a local technician.
FAQ
Switching and onboarding
How do we switch from our current IT company?
We handle most of it. See how a switch works.
Who owns our accounts and passwords?
You do. Accounts, admin logins and documentation stay in your name, and you hold break-glass access from onboarding.
How long does onboarding take?
Usually about 30 days for a small office, longer for multi-site environments.
FAQ
Security and compliance
Do you handle HIPAA or the FTC Safeguards Rule?
We implement and document the IT safeguards, and formal risk analysis is coordinated with a specialist compliance firm we work with. See compliance-ready IT.
Do you test backups?
Yes, on a schedule, with the restore time recorded in your report.
Can you help with a cyber insurance questionnaire?
Yes, with evidence from your environment, and we flag gaps honestly rather than overstating controls.
