Managed IT / Fully managed or co-managed
One accountable team for every device, account and vendor in your office.
Most small offices run IT on a mix of a part-time helper, a reseller who sold the firewall, and whoever is least busy that day. Managed IT replaces that with one team that knows your environment, writes it down, watches it continuously and answers when your staff need help.
What it is
What you hand over, and what you keep
With fully managed IT, Computer Plus becomes your IT department. We take the help desk, device management, patching, security tools, backups, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration and vendor calls. You keep ownership of every account, license and password vault, and you can see everything we touch in your client portal.
With co-managed IT, you already have someone in house, often an office manager or one technical employee. We take the work that wears that person down: patching, monitoring, security tooling, after-hours changes and the projects nobody has time for. They stay the first point of contact; we become the bench behind them.
What is included
The everyday work, written down
| Area | What we do | What you see |
|---|---|---|
| Help desk | Tickets by portal, email or phone, with caller identity checks before any password or MFA reset | Every ticket, its status and who worked it |
| Devices | Inventory, patching for Windows, macOS and common apps, disk encryption, remote support | Device list, patch status, last check-in |
| Security | Endpoint protection, MFA enforcement, email filtering, admin account separation | Alerts raised and how each was closed |
| Backup | Device, server and cloud mailbox backup with scheduled restore tests | Restore test results with timings |
| Cloud apps | Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace users, licenses, sharing and security settings | License counts and monthly changes |
| Vendors | Calls to your internet provider, printer company and line-of-business software vendor | Notes on each vendor case |
| Planning | Quarterly review, hardware lifecycle and budget forecast | A written roadmap you can share with your accountant |
How it runs
A predictable operating rhythm
- Continuously: Ares RMM checks every enrolled device for health, patch level, disk space and security status and raises alerts to our queue.
- Weekly: patch rings roll out, starting with a small test group so a bad update stops before it reaches the whole office.
- Monthly: a short report covering tickets, patch compliance, backup results and anything we think you should decide.
- Quarterly: a planning review with the owner or office manager: risks, upcoming renewals, hardware due for replacement, budget.
- Yearly: a full documentation refresh and a tabletop walk-through of what happens if email, files or the internet go down.
Is it a fit
Who managed IT works best for
A good fit
Offices of roughly 5 to 75 people who rely on email, cloud apps and a handful of business systems, and who want IT to be boring. Remote-first teams and multi-site offices work well because almost all of our work is remote.
Probably not a fit
Organizations that need a technician on site every day, or that want hourly break-fix with no monitoring. We will say so in the assessment and point you somewhere more suitable.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between managed IT and break-fix?
Break-fix bills you when something breaks, so the provider earns more when things go wrong. Managed IT is a recurring agreement where we are paid to keep things working, so prevention, patching and documentation are part of the job rather than an extra.
Can you work alongside our existing IT person?
Yes. That is co-managed IT. We agree in writing who owns which tasks, share the same ticket queue and portal, and your person keeps admin access to everything.
Do you need to be on site?
Rarely. Computer Plus has served clients remotely for years. Hardware installs can be handled by your staff with our guidance, by a local technician we coordinate, or by shipping preconfigured equipment.
What happens to our data and passwords if we leave?
They stay yours. Accounts, licenses and the password vault are in your name from day one, and offboarding includes a handover document and a working session with the next provider.
How is it priced?
Per user per month, quoted after an assessment. We do not publish a rate card because a ten-person dental office and a ten-person law firm need different tools. See plans and how pricing works.
